Recognizing the significance of this historic landmark, the developers of Lawnes Point donated the Fort Huger site along with a 50+ acre park to the county of Isle of Wight. This will ensure that the importance and integrity of Fort Huger is always protected.

Colonial Williamsburg, VA is just 30 minutes away from Lawnes Point and is the nation's most popular tourist destination. It offers a rare glimpse into the early history of America. Tour meticulously re-created homes, government buildings and taverns. The Jamestown Settlement, Virginia, founded on May 14, 1607, was named for King James I of England.
